Poker Hands

Would you just love to play poker and win, but your unsure as to which hand ranking is what? Winning poker hands are a breeze to learn but not quite as easy to get. Unless you got a very clever dealer who knows how to stack the odds then poker is primarily a game that requires lots of luck and a little bit of skill. Here is a basic run down of the best to worst hands to get while playing poker.

A ranking of Poker hands from royal flush to high card
Standard five-card Poker hands are ranked here in order of strength, from the strongest Poker hand to the weakest.

The Royal Flush is the best poker hand one can possibly get in the regular game of five-card Poker. This would mean having the Ace, King, Queen, Jack and 10, of the same suit. A Straight Flush of any five-card sequence in the same suit is the next best hand a player can get. Four of a Kind is the third best hand you can get. This entails having four cards of the same value…like 4 kings or queens, jacks, and so on. A Full House is next in line. This is when you get three of a kind combined with a pair. 3 tens and 2 queens is a good example of this type of hand. A Flush is any five cards of the same suit, but not in sequence. An example would be 5, 8, 9, jack, and king. A Straight is
five cards in sequence, but not in the same suit. Like 6 of clubs, 7 of spades, 8 of diamonds, 9 of hearts and 10 of clubs. Three of a Kind is three cards of the same value. Two Pair is two separate pairs, like 2 tens and 2 fives. A Pair is two cards of the same value. The worst poker hand is a hand with only a High Card. This is the hand that has none of the other combinations available.

You can add spice to you game of poker which might make getting a lame hand a little less dreary by getting picture poker cards. These are most generally cards that contain pornographic images and are meant for adult use only. Another poker game which require getting a really good poker hand is Texas hold’em poker. Then there are the multi-hand poker slot machines which will statistically really increase the odds of getting a very good hand…if you are, of course, lucky.
